AI Research Intern

At AETHER, you’ll conduct pioneering AI research that advances the state-of-the-art in autonomous systems. Working alongside our research scientists, you’ll explore novel architectures like foundation models across diverse modalities and experiment with advanced tasks such as multi-agent reinforcement learning.
Key Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree or diploma in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra and statistics.
- Solid programming skills in Python and proficiency in at least one deep learning framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow or JAX). Knowledge of HuggingFace is also helpful.
- Familiarity with scientific computing and data processing libraries such as SciPy and Pandas respectively.
- Analytical mindset with strong experimental design and scientific methodology skills.
- Creative problem-solver who thrives in collaborative environments.
- Independent and self-driven learner with a "fix it" mentality.
Preferred Experience
- + Experience implementing and training neural network architectures from research papers, and ability to understand and reproduce results from AI research literature.
- + Prior experience with specialised neural architectures (e.g. transformers, diffusion models, liquid state machines)
- + Knowledge of reinforcement learning algorithms and multi-agent systems
- + Demonstrated interest in research through projects, publications, or open-source contributions.
- + Experience with distributed computing for large-scale model training.
- + Interest and potentially background in cognitive science or computational neuroscience.
- + Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with loosely defined work guidelines.
- + Exposure to aviation systems is a plus.
