Cybersecurity Intern

4-6 months

At AETHER, you will help design and implement next-generation cybersecurity systems for the RSAF. You will collaborate with experienced security engineers and researchers, working on projects that directly impact RSAF’s cyber resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in the development of automated penetration testing tools
Contribute to the improvement of existing open-source software (OSS) and security automation workflows
Document findings, methodologies, and tool capabilities
Research and stay current with emerging trends in cybersecurity

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a diploma in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong programming skills in C and/or Python
  • Basic understanding of machine learning and artifical intelligence
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and its protocols
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including common vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and security controls
  • Knowledge of common penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Nmap, BurpSuite) and frameworks
  • Ability to write clear, well-documented code and maintain proper version control using Git
  • Highly independent and self-motivated to learn and discover information in an agile and rapid environment

Preferred Experience

  • + Knowledge on generative AI, specifically on LLMs and agentic behavior
  • + Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and practices
  • + Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • + Understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies
  • + Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems
  • + Knowledge of API security and REST architectures
  • + Experience with agile development methodologies
  • + Prior participation in CTF competitions or bug bounty programs
  • + Possess professional certification (BSCP, OSCP, CPTS, etc.)
