Software Development Intern

4-6 months

At AETHER, you’ll work with the team to explore, experiment and iterate on new technologies. You will also deliver innovative, enduring solutions that strengthen the RSAF’s technological capabilities and resilience in advanced areas of Autonomous Software, AI and Robotics.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing, testing and debugging software applications.
Collaborate with other developers and cross-functional team members at different stages of the development lifecycle to design and implement new features for reliable applications.
Support the creation and management of databases for efficient data storage and retrieval.
Experiment with and integrate a wide range of tools, and frameworks to improve software solutions.
Write clean, maintainable code and document development processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree or diploma in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Data Science or related fields.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL or Rust.
  • Familiarity with front-end and back-end frameworks such as React, Node.js or similar technologies
  • Knowledge in Cloud Services and Relational Databases Management System (RDMS).
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum or DevOps methodologies.
  • Ability to solve technical problems creatively, with a strong desire to learn and contribute to a team.
  • Highly independent and self-motivated learner that will not leave broken things broken.

Preferred Experience

  • + Familiarity with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) tools.
  • + Understanding of basic UI/UX design principles.
  • + Ability to move fast in an environment where things are sometimes loosely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines.
  • + Exposure to aviation systems will be a plus.
